Tartan Drone Ribbons for Bagpipes (Custom)

The ribbon came just as it was cut from a larger piece of tartan. There were no Velcro spacers to attach it the drones. I had previously purchased a ribbon of Stewart tartan which had the Velcro strips and was easy to use. (John's reply: This is correct on both counts. We cut these from a larger piece of tartan. We stopped putting attachments on them because 1) every piper has different spacing on drones, and 2) every piper has different preferences on how to attach, which we state on our website before purchase).

I ordered a set in Red Robertson, they are cut perfectly along the tartan and each ribbon is matched perfectly. It does take a few weeks to get them, but it's well worth the wait.

Attached these to my drones with velcro, and now my pipes look "Dressed up".

Ordered these when my kilt was purchased from J.Higgins and love having quality drone ribbons that match my kilt exactly. Having them made without Velcro or other pre-installed fastening systems make these truly customizable for each piper's setup.

Very nice ribbons match tartan bag pretty well too. Having my tailor sew some Velcro strips on which will be ready next week.

They came as two simple, tailored strips of tartan cloth, no fastening system. Now this might be a bit of a problem if you are looking for a quick attachment. However if you can work a needle and have some time to spare, you can make your own fastening system and set it up just exactly as you would like. I have ordered tartan drone ribbons in the past from other vendors that did come with their own velcro attatchment system, however I tend to have my drones at around 8 inches apart, and that ribbon I ordered a while back only allowed for a 6 inch spread, but with these, you truely can customize them specifically for your needs, so I give these a high rating, 100% satisfied!
