This stunning cap badge is made of brass plated pewter and features the insignia of the Scots Guards Regiment. It measures at approximately 1 and 1/2 inches in diameter. It attaches to the hat with a traditional pin-style backing. Made in Scotland.
One of the most ancient forms of showing your clan affiliation, the cap badge is an ornamental fitting that attaches to a glengarry, balmoral or feather bonnet. It fits onto the ribbon style rosette on the left side of the hat. The badge can also be worn on a plaid or woman's sash as a decorative element to compliment the tartan. Wearing this badge is a great way to proudly show your clan crest or highland military regiment.

Cap Badge Regimental Scots Guard
The bad is detailed and arrived on time. I have an original badge that I use on another hat. It is twice this one's size and in pewter. Which one is authentic?

Cap Badge
The image on the web shows the caps badge of the Scots Guard Regiment in a definite gold tone, I understand the regiment is part of the Order of the Thistle as is the Knights of Saint Andrew of which I am member. The piece I received has most of the gold tone off as if it was returned. I still find the piece to be a handsome piece, but still slightly disappointed when the item is compared to the item shown on the website catalog. This in no way affects shopping relations with JHiggins as I continue to look forward to future purchases for my Scottish needs.
