Highland Reeds new High Resonance Balance Tone drone reeds have been designed to produce more harmonics than the standard Balance Tone reeds.
They have the distinctive black plugs and feature all the same qualities of the original Balance Tone reeds.

balance the tenors
I ran some tests using Selbie drones because I liked the selbie tenors but not so much the inverted bass from Selbie. After testing this up against a Crozier Omega bass, redwood bass, and Selbie bass, I noticed that the recordings demonstrated a very stable blend using the balanced tone on the bass. This was done in my 1958 Henderson drones. Easy and predictable strike in as well. Was perfect right out of the box and didn’t have to make and changes to the tuning slide or bridles.
